Jen Fitzgerald is the author of The Art of Work (Noemi Press, 2016). Her essays, poetry, and photography have appeared in such outlets as PBS Newshour, Boston Review, Tin House, Salon, PEN Anthology, Colorado Review, Harriet: The Poetry Foundation Blog, Best American Poetry Blog, among others. She received her MFA in poetry at Lesley University and her BA in writing at The College of Staten Island (CUNY). She is a native New Yorker, community activist, organizer, curator, and content creator. She facilitates creative writing workshops online and around the five boroughs of New York City. Her workshops teach mining personal narrative, interrogating synaptic leaps, and working within hybrid forms to nurture the creative impulse and “authenticity of voice.” She is living in and lovingly restoring a 200 year-old hotel on Staten Island with her daughter and volatile cat. She is at work on many exciting projects and collaborations.
