Lauren A. Pirosko holds a B.A. in English and Humanistic Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and an M.S. in Publishing from the University of Houston-Victoria. She is the Assistant Editor and Layout Designer at American Book Review, as well as a freelance editor for NALA Magazine (Natural Awakenings Magazine, New Orleans Edition), and the designer for Agape Editions. While at UWGB, Lauren was involved in Sheepshead Review, UWGB’s Journal of the Arts. Her poem, “Shooting Up Sorrow,” was published in the Spring 2011 volume. She was also a part of the Campus Writers Union (a creative writing group on the UWGB campus), and in 2012, she took on the Campus Writers Union project of creating an online magazine, MEGAzine, where writers could submit their pieces to be published online. Lauren considers herself a bibliophile and can almost always be found with her nose stuck in a book.
Lauren and her husband own three cats and two dogs. Their cats, all named after literary characters, can frequently be found lounging in the library and are regularly featured on Lauren’s Instagram accounts. In addition to her literary passions, Lauren loves musicals—from Wicked to Newsies to Anastasia—and is always looking for new ones to enjoy. She finds the scores especially inspiring when writing fiction.
